This Memorial Day, I am reflecting on over one million Americans who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our liberties. My family and I are so grateful for all who have given their lives to preserve our freedoms. I especially want to remember the servicemembers who have died during this pandemic and those who have taken their own lives due to post-war trauma. Their loss has not gone unnoticed.

Patriotism is not just about celebrating the strength of our nation, but also recognizing that all men are created equal. Many nations throughout history have been able to point to battles won and enemies defeated, but America can also justly celebrate the moral greatness of our cause. In the overwhelming majority of our conflicts, Americans have fought and died not just for a flag or a government, but for the safety and freedom of their fellow citizens and people around the world. We fight against injustice not just because we have the military strength, but because it is the right thing to do.

Now, more than ever, it is fitting to remember that America was founded as, and has usually acted in the spirit of, a force for good. Our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines fought for a better world and died so that the American experience could live on. Our fallen remind us that we are stronger as a united nation and that we should always strive to appeal to the better angels of our nature. We wish you a wonderful Memorial Day and hope that you and your family are safe and healthy.

When this pandemic ends, we will be faced with the question of what kind of America we want to rebuild.

My answer is: I want to massively invest in renewable energy infrastructure, create millions of high-paying green jobs, and save our planet & economy at the same time.

Trump is trying to escalate the culture war by making the attendance of churches into a partisan issue.

It isn't. He knows large gatherings are not safe: churches, festivals, or anything else.

Yet another gross ploy to turn a virus into his own path to electoral victory.
