Lesinski’s advertisement emphasizes rebuilding the American economy after COVID-19

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – John Lesinski, a Democratic candidate running to represent the 5 th District, released his first television advertisement, “Fight for Our Future,” today. The advertisement emphasizes Lesinski’s insistence that this election is about finding an experienced leader to guide rebuilding the district’s economy after the COVID-19 crisis. The Democratic primary is June 23rd.

“Forty million people are out of work right now,” Lesinski said, “and when this pandemic ends, we’re going to need a representative who knows how to get our economy moving again.” He continued, “As a Marine colonel and twice-elected official, I’ve had to make the tough decisions. I’ve also been in business for 35 years here in Virginia, and I won’t have to learn on the job.”

Lesinski proposes a massive infrastructural investment program that would prioritize clean, renewable energy sources and the creation of millions of jobs in those industries. Lesinski, a former Board of Supervisors member in Rappahannock County and a colonel in the Marines, is running for Congress to create a public option in healthcare, ensure the accountability of our elected officials, to combat climate change, and to bring more and better jobs to the district. He serves on numerous commissions in the district that fight for better healthcare and environmental protections in Virginia and was in the news recently for being the sole vote on the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors to oppose making the county a Second Amendment Sanctuary County.

Virginia’s 5th District extends from Fauquier County in the north to the city of Danville in the south, and is currently represented by Representative Denver Riggleman, a Republican. The 5th District Democratic Party Primary, consists of four candidates, including John Lesinski. Lesinski’s ad is located online at
